About The Event
Tashlich is a beautiful, symbolic ritual performed during the High Holy Days, usually on Rosh Hashanah.
It means “to cast off” in Hebrew. In this ceremonial activity, we go to a body of water (like a river or ocean) and symbolically cast away our sins and negativity by tossing pieces of bread or small stones into the water. This year, we will be celebrating Tashlich with a special Havdalah ceremony as we close out Shabbat and the previous week and look forward to the week ahead… with a beach picnic at sunset in Malibu (not too shabby!)
It’s a moment of deep reflection and spiritual release. As the water (or seagulls) carry away what we’ve
thrown in, we’re reminded that we have the power to let go of past mistakes, regrets, and the weight we
carry. Tashlich invites us to begin the new year lighter, freer, and more open to…
